October 2023: A Month in Review

A return to form after a few months of unexpected chaos

Dear readers,

Welcome back to the month in review series! It’s been six months since the last installment, due to several unexpected changes in my personal life that forced me to put Soft Star on the back burner for a little while. However, things have stabilized for me, and I’m excited to return to my regular editorial work, starting with the print release of Issue Four: Arcana!

I’ve also spent a lot of time brainstorming ways to keep this project sustainable and develop the staying power of this publication. As I’ve said in the past, the longevity of Soft Star is my primary goal, both for the sake of the contributors whose work is hosted here as well as for the larger community of speculative fiction readers. To this end, I am on the lookout for a better printing solution for the magazine.
