Ivan deMonbrison is a French poet born in 1969. He has studied non-Western languages at the University of Oriental Languages in Paris. He has published several novels and poetry books in France, Belgium, Switzerland, and the US, between 1994 and 2021. His next book, Brambles, is due to come out in Wales next year.
The Sun moves on an axis not horizontal but vertical,
It is an invisible thread made with the absolute.
The mind is a spider’s web, it tries to catch thoughts
Like flies.
But, the dreams, them, like leaves, or ghosts,
pass through them and remain free,
in the static air as in a storm.
